Abdel Fattah el-Sisi is an Egyptian politician who has been serving as the President of Egypt since 2014. El-Sisi previously served as the Minister of Defense and commander-in-chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces. He played a key role in the 2011 revolution which led to the ousting of President Hosni Mubarak. El-Sisi led the military coup in 2013 that removed President Mohamed Morsi from power, following which he won the presidential elections in 2014 and 2018.
