Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam was an Indian aerospace scientist and politician who served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007. He was born and raised in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, and studied aerospace engineering before embarking on a career in research and development. Known as the 'Missile Man of India,' Kalam played a pivotal role in the Pokhran-II nuclear tests in 1998. He received numerous awards, including the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honor.
