Alexander Contee Hanson (1786–1819) was an American lawyer, planter, and politician who served as a United States Senator from Maryland. He was a Federalist and a vocal opponent of the War of 1812, for which he gained national attention. Hanson was known for his influential editorials in the 'Federal Republican', a newspaper he co-founded to promote Federalist policies and criticize the Democratic-Republican administration.
