Bryce Courtenay was a South African-born Australian novelist and advertising executive. After a successful career in advertising, he turned to writing and published his first novel 'The Power of One' in 1989, which became an international bestseller. Courtenay went on to write numerous other novels, many of which were inspired by his own life experiences and family history. He often explored themes of racism, social injustice, and resilience in his works.
