Biography

Ernie Banks, nicknamed Mr. Cub and Mr. Sunshine, was an American professional baseball player and Major League Baseball (MLB) shortstop and first baseman. He spent his entire 19-year career with the Chicago Cubs and was known for his infectious enthusiasm and positive attitude. Banks became the first National League player to win back-to-back Most Valuable Player awards in 1958 and 1959. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1977 and remains one of the most beloved figures in Cubs history.
