Biography

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was an American poet and educator. He is best known for his lyric poems and classic narrative poems, including 'Paul Revere's Ride,' 'The Song of Hiawatha,' and 'Evangeline.' Longfellow was one of the most popular poets of his time and was the first American to translate Dante Alighieri's 'Divine Comedy.' He also had a successful career as a professor at Harvard College.
