Biography

Roberto Clemente was a legendary Puerto Rican baseball player who spent his entire career with the Pittsburgh Pirates in Major League Baseball. Known for his exceptional skills as an outfielder and batter, Clemente won numerous awards, including 12 Gold Glove Awards and the National League MVP in 1966. Off the field, he was a dedicated humanitarian who actively supported charitable causes, especially for the benefit of Latin American and Caribbean communities. Clemente tragically passed away in a plane crash while en route to deliver aid to earthquake victims in Nicaragua.
