About Angelus Silesius
Angelus Silesius was a German mystical poet and theologian. Born Johann Scheffler in 1624, he studied medicine, philosophy, and theology in universities across Europe. Later in life, he converted to Catholicism and joined the Franciscan Order, taking the name Angelus. Silesius' most famous work is 'Cherubinischer Wandersmann' (The Cherubinic Pilgrim), a collection of religious and mystical poems that reflect his deep spirituality and contemplative nature.
