About Arno Penzias

Arno Allan Penzias is an American physicist and Nobel laureate, best known for his discovery of the cosmic microwave background radiation along with Robert Wilson. Born in 1933 in Munich, Germany, Penzias immigrated to the United States with his family to escape Nazi persecution. He received his Ph.D. in physics from Columbia University and joined Bell Labs where he conducted groundbreaking research in radio astronomy.
