About Artur Davis

Artur Davis is an American attorney and politician who served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives for Alabama's 7th congressional district from 2003 to 2011. He was the first member of Congress not of the American party to endorse Barack Obama for president. Davis also delivered a keynote address at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. After an unsuccessful bid for the governorship of Alabama, he left the Democratic Party citing differences in ideology and values.
