About Bernardo Houssay

Bernardo Houssay was an Argentine physiologist who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1947 for his discovery of the role of pituitary hormones in regulating the amount of blood sugar. Born in 1887, Houssay significantly contributed to the understanding of diabetes and the function of the endocrine system.
