About Jim Ryun
Jim Ryun is a former American athlete and politician who was a middle-distance runner. He was born in 1947 in Wichita, Kansas. Ryun set world records in the mile and the half-mile during his career, becoming the first high school student to run a mile in under four minutes. He represented the United States in the Olympics, winning a silver medal in the 1500 meters at the 1968 Mexico City Games.
