About Peter Snell
Peter Snell (1938-2019) was a legendary New Zealand middle-distance runner who achieved great success in the 1960s. He won three Olympic gold medals, two at the 1964 Tokyo Games (800m and 1500m) and one at the 1960 Rome Games (800m). Known for his powerful finishing kick, Snell set numerous world records and became one of the greatest runners of his era. After retiring from competitive running, he pursued a career in sports science and dedicated himself to coaching and mentoring young athletes.
