Bill Terry was a renowned American professional baseball player and manager. Born in 1898 in Atlanta, Georgia, he had a successful career playing as a first baseman for the New York Giants from 1923 to 1936. Terry was known for his exceptional batting skills and was the last National League player to hit over .400 in a single season in 1930. After retiring as a player, he became the manager of the Giants and led them to a World Series victory in 1933.
