About Buddy Holly
Buddy Holly, born Charles Hardin Holley in 1936, was a pioneering American musician and singer-songwriter who rose to fame in the late 1950s. Known for his distinctive vocal style and innovative approach to rock and roll music, Holly had a string of hits including 'That'll Be the Day' and 'Peggy Sue.' His band, the Crickets, was one of the earliest and most influential rock and roll groups. Tragically, Holly's promising career was cut short when he died in a plane crash at the age of 22, alongside fellow musicians Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper.
