Chaim Weizmann (1874-1952) was a prominent Zionist leader and the first President of Israel. He played a significant role in the Balfour Declaration and lobbying for the establishment of a Jewish homeland. Weizmann was a chemist by profession and made key contributions to the British war effort during WWI with his acetone production process. His diplomatic skills and dedication to the Zionist cause were instrumental in securing international support for the creation of the State of Israel.
