Adam Petty was an American stock car racing driver and a member of the famous Petty racing family. Born on July 10, 1980, in Trent Woods, North Carolina, Adam was the son of Kyle Petty and grandson of Richard Petty. He began his racing career in go-karts at a young age and quickly rose through the ranks to compete in the NASCAR Busch Series. Tragically, Adam Petty's promising career was cut short when he died in a racing accident at the age of 19.
