About Akhenaton
Akhenaton, also known as Amenhotep IV, was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty who reigned from around 1353 to 1336 BC. He is notable for his religious reforms that focused on the worship of the Aten, the sun god, as the supreme deity, leading to the establishment of a monotheistic cult. Akhenaton is often considered as the first individual in history to advocate monotheism. Despite his significant religious reforms, his reign was controversial, and after his death, his successors attempted to erase his memory from history.
