Alexis Arguello was a Nicaraguan professional boxer and politician. He was born on April 19, 1952, in Managua, Nicaragua. Arguello is considered one of the greatest boxers of all time, winning world championships in three weight divisions: featherweight, super featherweight, and lightweight. After retiring from boxing, he ventured into politics and served as the Mayor of Managua. Arguello tragically passed away on July 1, 2009.
