Allen Toussaint (1938-2015) was an American musician, songwriter, and record producer who was a prominent figure in New Orleans R&B and soul music. He wrote hits for numerous artists, including "Working in the Coal Mine" for Lee Dorsey and "Southern Nights" for Glen Campbell.
