About Anacreon
Anacreon was an ancient Greek lyric poet known for his drinking songs and hymns celebrating love and revelry. Born in Teos, a city of Ionia, around 582 BC, Anacreon spent much of his life in Athens, where his work became highly esteemed during the Classical period.
