About George Saunders
George Saunders is an American short story writer, essayist, and novelist known for his darkly satirical and poignant works. He was born in Amarillo, Texas in 1958 and later went on to work as a geophysical engineer in Sumatra. After returning to the United States, he pursued a career in writing and teaching creative writing at Syracuse University. Saunders has received numerous prestigious awards for his work, including the Man Booker Prize for Fiction.
