Biography

Alvin Dark was an American professional baseball shortstop and manager. He played in the Major League Baseball for the Boston Braves, New York Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, and Philadelphia Phillies. Dark was a three-time All-Star and won the World Series as a player with the New York Giants in 1954. After retiring as a player, he had a successful career as a manager, leading the San Francisco Giants to a World Series appearance in 1962.
