Bill Schuette, born on October 13, 1953, is an American attorney and politician who served as the 53rd Attorney General of Michigan from 2011 to 2019. He previously held various public offices, including serving as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1985 to 1991 and as Director of the Michigan Department of Agriculture from 1991 to 1993. Schuette ran for governor of Michigan in 2018 but was unsuccessful in securing the nomination.
