About Zeno of Citium
Zeno of Citium was a Hellenistic philosopher who founded the school of philosophy known as Stoicism. He was born in Cyprus around 334 BC and later moved to Athens, where he began teaching his philosophical ideas in the Stoa Poikile, a painted porch in the Agora. Zeno's teachings emphasized living in accordance with nature, developing self-control, and maintaining a tranquil state of mind regardless of external circumstances. His philosophy had a significant influence on later Stoic thinkers, including Seneca, Epictetus, and Marcus Aurelius.
