Ernesto 'Che' Guevara was an Argentine Marxist revolutionary, physician, author, guerrilla leader, and diplomat. A major figure of the Cuban Revolution, Guevara became a close associate of Fidel Castro and played a key role in the successful guerrilla war that overthrew the Batista regime in Cuba. Guevara later served as minister of industry and as president of the Cuban national bank, advocating socialism and revolutionary change throughout Latin America and Africa.
